The re-launch of MUTEK in Argentina in 2017 impacted the audience with its varied programming and the quality and enthusiasm of the Argentine and foreign artists who participated. In an extraordinary call, a diverse and heterogeneous crowd gathered over 3 days at the CCK, CMD and the adjoining venues to be surprised by the advanced global expressions of electronic music and digital arts in their different disciplines. In an atmosphere of conviviality and diversity, MUTEK Argentina fulfilled its essential objective, that of being a platform that brings the artistic innovations closer to the public and works at the same time as a space for meeting, exchange and information flow for artists and people.
This year, Edition 2 will take place during September 14_16, 2018 in Buenos Aires and will offer a program of activities that will include workshops, lectures, digital art installations, live shows, audiovisual performances and amazing proposals that combine art and technology.
MUTEK is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination and development of digital creativity in sound, music, and audiovisual art. Its mandate is to provide a platform for the most original and visionary artists currently working in their fields, with the intent of providing an outlet of initiation and discovery for the audiences we seek to develop.
MUTEK has taken place in Montréal since 2000. Since its first edition, the MUTEK festival has distinguished itself as an international rendezvous for original and avant-garde programming. In terms of content, the festival’s range strives to be diverse, with interests in both the experimental and the playful sides of digital creativity. This is a world of constant evolution and incessant refinement – the “MU” in MUTEK refers consciously to the notion of “mutation”.
A MUTEK network exists today, with ramifications in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia which provides an essential platform to promote and explore wide-ranging artistic content, all the while reflecting a cultural effervescence that is both real and global.

En 2017, MUTEK regresó a Buenos Aires con una convocatoria récord y relanzó en Argentina una nueva serie de ediciones consecutivas. En septiembre de este año, el célebre festival internacional especializado en creatividad digital y música electrónica presentará la segunda edición de la nueva era. Esta vez, al mejor estilo Montreal (ciudad de origen), MUTEK.AR se desarrollará en varias sedes con actividades distribuidas en diferentes puntos de Buenos Aires durante cuatro días. La urbe, según los principios de MUTEK, es el hábitat del festival y por lo tanto transitarla y (re)conocerla completa la experiencia. Tanto espacios públicos como privados serán intervenidos y resignificados por la diversidad de contenidos que MUTEK.AR ofrece. El festival desplegará la calidad de sus ya conocidas secciones agregándose entre ellas el proyecto especial ARTLAB 3D SOUND (que propone trabajar la espacialidad sonora con la ayuda del software alemán MNTN). Asimismo para esta edición, MUTEK.AR realizó una gran convocatoria federal de artistas en tres áreas: audiovisuales, realidad virtual y aumentada, y espacialidad sonora (ARTLAB 3D SOUND). Los resultados se darán a conocer a comienzos de agosto en la página del festival.
MUTEK.AR ofrecerá al público argentino una atractiva programación internacional en buena parte gracias al apoyo de Canada Arts Council, British Council y el Institut Français. A su vez, el festival articula con universidades y una serie de instituciones culturales que apoyan el proyecto.
Conciertos audiovisuales, experiencias inmersivas, charlas y talleres, realidad virtual, nuevas tecnologías para la creatividad digital, espacialidad sonora y cultura club no faltarán en Buenos Aires del 13 al 16 de septiembre.
